Rahim Kalema’s story
Kalema Rahim is a resilient and determined 14-year-old student currently in Primary Six. Growing up in a large and bustling household as the second-last born among five brothers and three sisters, Rahim lives with his father and step-mother.
Every single school day begins and ends with a demanding physical challenge: Rahim must walk a long, tiring distance from his home to school and back. The daily commute drains his energy long before he sits down for his lessons. Beyond the physical fatigue, his family struggles to secure consistent financial support for his educational needs. Despite these hardships, Rahim holds a strong, disciplined vision for his future—he wants to grow up to become a soldier, driven by a deep desire to serve, protect, and bring order to his community.
