Meet Stecia Nabuguzi

Stecia is a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated 13-year-old student currently in Primary Six. Growing up as the fifth-born in a large family of two brothers and five sisters, Stecia lives under the sole care of her mother after her father abandoned the family, leaving them to navigate severe financial hardship alone.

Providing for eight children on a single income has created overwhelming hurdles at home. Beyond the persistent struggle to clear school fees, Stecia faces a severe shortage of proper clothing and lacks basic scholastic materials -- such as notebooks, pens, and uniform items -- needed to participate fully in class. Despite the daily anxiety of scarcity and abandonment, Stecia remains deeply focused on her education. Inspired by a desire to bring care and healing to others, she holds a firm dream of becoming a doctor.
