Peace Birugi’s story
Birungi Peace is a 9-year-old pupil attending Omuto Emmaus Nursery and Primary School in Lugazi Municipality, Buikwe District. Living in the village of Kizigo, Peace faces a daily physical challenge, walking 2 to 3 kilometers on foot to and from school, which sometimes causes her to arrive late during bad weather.
Raised by her grandmother in a very large household of 13 members who rely on peasant farming, Peace experiences significant financial problems. The family struggles with daily meals and a lack of proper beddings. Despite these heavy burdens, she enjoys reading story books and doing domestic work, and she maintains a strong ambition to become a medical doctor. Sponsorship will provide Peace with essential learning supplies, food security, and educational stability.
