Luwayo Joseph’s story
Luwayo Joseph is a 13-year-old pupil attending Omuto Emmaus Nursery and Primary School in Lugazi Municipality, Buikwe District. Living in the village of Kizigo, Joseph faces a daily physical challenge, walking 2 to 3 kilometers on foot to and from school, which sometimes causes him to arrive late during bad weather.
Raised by his grandmother in a family of five members who rely on peasant farming, Joseph experiences severe financial strain. The household cannot afford daily meals every day, and the long walk to school adds to his daily hardships. Despite these heavy burdens, he enjoys reading story books and playing football, and he maintains a strong ambition to become a medical doctor. Sponsorship will provide Joseph with reliable learning supplies, food security, and educational stability.
