Meet John Wasswa

Wasswa John is a remarkably resilient young boy carrying adult responsibilities far beyond his years. John lives with his elderly grandmother, who is both blind and deaf. As the eldest child among eight siblings, John acts as the primary caregiver for his entire family, looking after his grandmother and seven younger brothers and sisters.

Because the household lacks a working adult provider, John must spend critical hours searching for daily food and trying to acquire basic school supplies. This heavy burden forces him to be on and off at school, missing classes regularly despite his desire to learn. Sponsorship will secure John's tuition fees, provide regular food support for his household, and supply his educational materials -- allowing him to stay consistently in class without sacrificing his family's survival.
