Peace Namuganza’s story
Peace Namuganza is a dedicated 15-year-old Senior 2 student carrying significant responsibility as the eldest of nine children. As the big sister to three sisters and five brothers, Peace strives to set a strong academic example for her younger siblings.
Peace lives with both of her parents, who work tirelessly to support their large family. Without a formal profession, her father relies on small-scale livestock rearing and vegetable farming to generate household income. However, with eight dependent children needing care and education, agricultural earnings are far from enough to cover secondary tuition consistently. As the eldest, Peace faces the constant risk of having her education paused so younger siblings can be provided for. Educational sponsorship will secure Peace's place in class, relieving her father's burden and empowering her to break the cycle of poverty for her family.
