Rashida Namutebi’s story
Namutebi Rashida is an energetic and resilient 16-year-old student beginning her secondary education in Senior 1. A well-rounded student with a love for life, Rashida enjoys playing netball, singing, and dancing in her free time.
Rashida comes from a large family of ten children supported by parents who work as subsistence peasant farmers. Because agricultural income is low and unpredictable, covering tuition for ten children has required painful compromises—including taking turns attending school based on available funds and prioritizing older siblings in candidate classes. Despite these historical delays in her primary education, Rashida is deeply determined to complete her studies through secondary school and beyond without further interruption. Sponsorship will provide the financial stability Rashida needs to stay in class continuously and fulfill her academic potential.
