Dorcus Akao’s story
Dorcus Akao is a dedicated 17-year-old Senior 3 student who will sit for her national O-Level examinations next year. A devout born-again Christian, Dorcus is deeply motivated by a passion for fairness and human rights. Her lifelong dream is to become a lawyer to advocate for innocent people who have been falsely accused, ensuring equal treatment and justice for all.
Dorcus lives with both of her parents in a large household of eight, including five siblings. Her father works hard as a security guard, earning 180,000 UGX per month. With six children requiring school tuition, her father’s salary cannot stretch to cover everyone's education. Financial shortfalls frequently cause delays in her tuition payments, causing her to miss critical class time and impacting her academic preparation. Sponsorship will provide the financial security Dorcus needs to focus fully on her national exams and take her first step toward a legal career.
