Ramula Naluwaga’s story
Naluwaga Ramula is an energetic and resilient 18-year-old Senior 4 candidate at Omuto Emmaus High School. Living in Vuluga Village, Ramula loves playing netball and spending time with friends during her leisure time. Driven by a desire to educate and empower future generations, her lifelong goal is to become a teacher.
Ramula comes from a large household of 12 children. Her father works as a cattle keeper, earning a modest monthly income of just 50,000 UGX. Because the family lives on a small piece of land with no space to grow their own food, most of his tiny earnings go toward buying basic meals and trying to keep the children in school. To attend class, Ramula walks a long, isolated route through sugarcane plantations every day. With her father warning that financial hardship will force her education to end after Senior 4, Ramula urgently needs sponsorship to complete her O-Levels and advance toward her teaching career.
