Jennipher Najjuko’s story
Najjuko Jenipher is an empathetic and resilient 17-year-old student currently in Senior 2. Living in Bamungaya Village, Jenipher loves playing netball and spends her free time reading storybooks. Deeply driven by a desire to uplift others and serve her country, her ultimate goal is to become a teacher so she can "teach the nation."
Jenipher lives in a female-headed household of five children supported solely by her mother, who works as a market fruit vendor. With no support from her father -- a fisherman whom Jenipher has never met -- her mother struggles to cover basic needs and tuition due to unpredictable market earnings and spoiled produce. Despite facing stigma and severe financial hardship at home, Jenipher remains compassionate and determined. Educational sponsorship will secure her place in school, allowing her to break the cycle of poverty and fulfill her vision of becoming an educator.
