Dorothy & Moses Muwanguzi – President

President

Coming from a humble background, Moses Muwanguzi, the Founder and President of Omuto Uganda, at a very tender age, conceived this idea of empowering a child through Christ-centered education. He attributes his success to an education opportunity given to him when young after the sudden death of his parents. He is on the Advisory Board of TLC Global Mission International, Sawa World International and God’s Care Ministries International, Kyenjojo.  Moses and his wife, Dorothy, the co-founder, are the Directors of Kisa Developers Limited (Kisa Safaris). Moses holds a Bachelor’s of Commerce majoring in Finance, Makerere University, and a certificate in Tourism.

Geoff Horn-International Director

International Director

Geoff Horn serves as the Chaplain of the San Diego Padres baseball team. He served for 17 years (1998-2015) on the pastoral staff (Youth Pastor, then Associate Pastor) of Green Valley Church in San Diego, CA. He works in the property management business with his father, Bill Horn, and the two of them have been instrumental in building the Emmaus School in Uganda. Geoff serves as the International Director of Omuto Uganda. He is a relational leader who is passionate about God’s Word, discipleship and challenging others to live with moral courage. His mission in life is to enable others to see God’s faithfulness. He and his beautiful wife, Holly, have four sons and live in Southern California.

Kenneth Kakande-Administrator

Kenneth Kakande, right from the commencement, has been greatly involved in the controlling and coordination processes undertaken by Omuto Uganda. In addition to playing managerial roles at Kizigo Corn Limited, one of the projects engineered to support the organization as far as sustainability is concerned, he, together with the Kisa Safaris staff, helps plan reposeful itineraries for guests from far and wide. His knack for international languages has been of remarkable value in our public relations for both the organization and Kisa Safaris. Currently, he is passionately pursuing studies to increase his understanding of business administration and management.

Catherine Wamatsembe-Advisor

Treasurer

Catherine Wamatsembe, the treasurer of Omuto Uganda, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Oxford Brookes University and a Masters degree in Accounting and Finance from Makerere University. She is a qualified member of the Association of the Chartered Certified Accountants of UK (ACCA). She has 23 years’ experience in both banking and other fields. Catherine previously worked with UCB (now Stanbic) for 7 years as Banking Officer. She later joined NARO (National Agricultural Research Organisation) in 1997 as Senior Internal Auditor. In 2003 she joined Uganda Microfinance Limited as Chief Internal Auditor. She is currently employed with Equity Bank as Head of the Internal Audit function where she has been for the last 6 years.

Wilson Wamatsembe-Advisor

Board Advisor

Wilson Wamatsembe is presently employed as a part-time lecturer at Makerere University Business School and also works with Business Development Services and Corporate Affairs as Director. In 1994 he was the Loans/Grants Officer at Uganda Cooperative Alliance working with the PL-480 Project, and then he advanced to Financial Services Administrator in 1995. In 1997 he was the Project Economist/Analyst, Poverty Alleviation Project, Government of Uganda, a part-time lecturer at the Uganda Institute of Bankers, Microfinance Training Program in 2002, Institutional Capacity Building Manager at The Microfinance Support Centre Limited in 2003, and then he advanced to Head Business Development Services in 2009, and Acting Executive Director in 2011, and now Deputy Executive Director. Wilson is a PhD Candidate in Agricultural and Rural Innovations at Makerere University, and holds an MBA/Finance, MSC (Agric. Econ), BSC (Agric.), PGDE (Agric.) all at Makerere University, and Dip. SME Development and Management at Galilee International Management Institute, Israel. Wilson aids the non-profit organization as the board adviser.

Victor Sande-Advisor

Pastor

Victor Sande is a the head pastor of God’s Care Ministries Kyenjojo, a married, warm-hearted gentleman with five fostered children and two of his own. His long service in non-profit organizations and his own expertise in the arena are of paramount importance and great help in Omuto Uganda. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Irish Business University, UK, Bachelor’s degree in Ministries at Minnesota School of Theology, and a Bachelor’s in Leadership at Watoto School of Community Leadership. He owns a missionary hospital, an orphanage and a school. He is a director of Omuto Uganda.
