Meet Mercy Ritah Nakanjako

Mercy Ritah Nakanjako is a bright and dedicated pupil attending Omuto Emmaus Nursery and Primary School in Lugazi Municipality, Buikwe District. Standing out as one of the top academic performers in her class -- consistently securing position one or two -- Mercy's potential is heavily threatened by extreme poverty.

She lives with her mother and step-father, but faces severe financial strain at home. Her step-father works as a village motorcycle transport (boda-boda) rider—an occupation that is far less lucrative in rural areas—and must also provide for his own biological children with more on the way. Mercy relies primarily on her mother and has not heard from her biological father since her parents separated. Sponsorship will provide Mercy with essential scholastic materials and the financial security needed to keep her brilliant academic journey alive.
