Meet Janet Buheri

At an age when she should be focused on her own growth, Janet has been thrust into the role of a mother. After her father abandoned the family years ago, the burden of survival fell entirely on her mother. In a desperate attempt to provide, her mother often spends days away from home, seeking any means of income possible—sometimes at the cost of her own dignity. During these long absences, Janet is the one who keeps the household together, caring for her siblings and managing the home. Janet is a girl of incredible strength, but she deserves the chance to be a student again. A sponsorship would provide the stability she needs to step out of the role of a 'caregiver' and back into the role of a 'child with a future.
